Worship Ministry Audition Information Thanks for your interest in participating in the worship ministry here at Calvary Chapel SV. Worshipping the Lord through song is an important part in the life of a believer. Periodically, auditions are scheduled in order to meet those committed Christian musicians/servants whom the Lord is raising up in our congregation to help facilitate our congregation's expression of worship through song.

Vocal Auditions The first stage of our process is an online audio/video submission. Please record yourself singing only one song of your choice. (Please remember this is our first impression of you both vocally and spiritually.) The video does not need to be professional quality. Use of a smartphone or webcam is completely acceptable. You may accompany yourself (or a friend may accompany you), use a background track, or sing acapella. Please, no bands or prerecorded material.

Once you've recorded what you feel is the best representation of your singing ability, please email it to: rob@calvarysv.org

Once we've received your submission you will be contacted wit further instructions.

Band Auditions Complete the questionnaires below. You will be contacted after receiving the completed questionnaires to schedule an audition. You will be given access to a Dropbox account that contains the resources for several songs that you will be asked to play at your audition. Please be prepared to follow the music and play with the band.

Keyboards, bass amps, and drums will be provided for the audition. You will, however, need to bring your own personal instrument (guitar, bass, drumsticks, etc.).

Due to time constraints, not every song will be played all the way through during your audition. You may also be asked to play through a song that is not included on the website.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition time. You can expect immediate feedback in regards to a recommendation for ministry placement.

Guidelines for Participation in the Worship Ministry Welcome to the Calvary Chapel SV Worship Ministry. Below are some guidelines that we have put in place to help you get familiar with the policies of this ministry. After reading this information, if for some reason you are not able to fulfill these obligations, please contact us to discuss your individual situation.

Communication Our primary method of communicating important ministry information is through email so it is important that you check you email on a regular basis. If you email, phone number or address changes, it is your responsibility to let us know as quickly as possible so that you don't miss out on receiving information.

Scheduling Each month we will ask for your available dates for the following month. An immediate response from you will help us to make the schedule in a timely manner. Based on the information that we receive, we put together a schedule which is emailed out to each team member. The frequency of which team members are scheduled varies from month to month, but we make every effort to see that everyone participates as much as possible.

If it becomes necessary for you to miss a scheduled date, it is your responsibility to make sure that we have been informed of this in a timely fashion. When necessary, our office will arrange your sub.

Lack of availability, due to holidays, vacations and healthy issues, is understandable and will be taken into account, but a pattern of non-participation (including lack of availability and excessive substitutions) will require an assessment to ministry commitment and a meeting will be scheduled to evaluate future involvement in the ministry.

Service Preparation You will receive an email a week and a half before the scheduled service time. This will include the song sheets in PDF format. You will also have access to a Dropbox account which has live recordings of the songs as they have been done in the past so you can be prepared for practice. It is during this period that you can learn your part.

Practice Times Our main practice is on Wednesday evening from 6 PM - 7 PM. We are wanting to start practice at 6, so if you have anything that needs to be set up lease be there early. As we cover all the songs for the mid-week and weekend services attendance is mandatory. Since there has been nearly 2 weeks to prepare for the songs the practice will be about becoming a tight unit. Do not come expecting to learn your part. As we all have lives that are busy, coming prepared will allow us to work through the songs quickly and efficiently.

Attire When choosing your attire, be mindful that we should represent the Lord in a way that is pleasing to Him. If you have a question whether or not it is appropriate, it is better to choose something different. Blue jeans are fine as long as they are not torn or showing skin.

Call Times Thursday's warm-up starts at 6 PM. The stage will be cleared by 6:30 when the people begin to show up. Saturday's warm-up is from 5-5:30 PM. Sunday morning warm-up is from 8-8:30 AM. Again, these are the times we need to start, so please be prompt.

Probationary Period As a standard practice, there is a probationary period for all new worship team members. Ministry involvement may be revisited after this three to six month period.

Fellowship Involvement It is our desire that everyone involved in the Worship Ministry attend the mid-week service and one of the weekend services. This will give us an opportunity to get to know the people in the Fellowship. Knowing the needs and concerns of the people will guide us in the songs we choose to present during the services.

Your faithful participation is vital to the success of the worship ministry. With these guidelines clearly laid out, you can move into the future knowing what is expected in order to be an active member of the worship team. We are looking forward to serving together with you.
