Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Amen.

Matthew 28:19-20

An Important Step

Baptism is an important step in your Christian life and it should follow your having repented of your sins and placing your hope of eternal life in our Savior Jesus Christ.

Notice the inspired record of the early church as it is recorded in Acts: “Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Brethren, what shall we do?’

And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit..’” Acts 2:37, 38

No Reason to Delay

There is no reason to delay your baptism. The Bible teaches that baptism should follow saving faith in Christ.

Baptism Means Immersion

The Greek word for Baptism means to “immerse”, to “dip”, or “saturate”.

These meanings, together with the fact that the Jews were familiar with proselytic baptism by immersion, give support to immersion as the Biblical, New Testament mode of baptism. Baptism is a Symbol.

Water Baptism by Immersion Symbolizes Three Things

1. It is a public statement that you have been united by faith into Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. Romans 6:3,4

2. It is a public statement that you now identify yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ. “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:27

Baptism is also a sign of obedience to Christ’s great commission. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

3. Baptism illustrated the Gospel without words. When you are brought up out of the water, you are illustrating that you have died to your old life and are now a new creature in Jesus Christ!

We rejoice with you in your decision to be baptized in water, in obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ!

We are praying that this will be the beginning of a wonderful new life of growth in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!
