An Important Step
Baptism is an important step in your Christian life and it should follow your having repented of your sins and placing your hope of eternal life in our Savior Jesus Christ.
Notice the inspired record of the early church as it is recorded in Acts: “Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Brethren, what shall we do?’
And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit..’” Acts 2:37, 38
No Reason to Delay
There is no reason to delay your baptism. The Bible teaches that baptism should follow saving faith in Christ.
Baptism Means Immersion
The Greek word for Baptism means to “immerse”, to “dip”, or “saturate”.
These meanings, together with the fact that the Jews were familiar with proselytic baptism by immersion, give support to immersion as the Biblical, New Testament mode of baptism. Baptism is a Symbol.
